Secure Access Frameworks

AI applications can access sensitive enterprise information.

Overview

AI applications can access sensitive enterprise information.

Security must cover:

Identity
   ↓
Authentication
   ↓
Authorization
   ↓
Least Privilege
   ↓
Data Access

Identity Federation

Federation allows identities to work across systems.

Conceptually:

Enterprise Identity
       ↓
Federation
       ↓
Cloud / AI Services

This avoids creating unrelated identities everywhere.

Role-Based Access Control

RBAC means access depends on the user's role.

Example:

Employee
  ↓
Role: Sales
  ↓
CRM access

Another user:

Employee
  ↓
Role: Finance
  ↓
Financial systems

Least Privilege

Give only required access.

Bad:

AI Agent
 ↓
Administrator access

Better:

AI Agent
 ↓
Specific IAM role
 ↓
Only required APIs/resources

Exam trap

AI should not receive broad permissions simply because it needs to perform multiple tasks.

Use least privilege.
